Leonard Frie, President and Owner of Geriatric Home Care Specialists and his team, are dedicated to helping seniors throughout Northern California. Leonard draws from his years of experience as owner of dialysis clinics and other entities.
Since 1994, with the establishment of our Los Gatos, California office, we have been providing needed, non-medical custodial services helping people to stay independent in their homes. We plan to stay in this specialty service while continually improving our business practices and personal attendant networks.
Shortly after LWF Home Care Inc. acquired the company in 2004, additional locations were added in the communities of San Mateo, Modesto, and Rocklin, California. Substantial investments in state of the art technologies to improve efficiencies and communication between clients were made in 2006 and in 2008.
We seek to be the most respected home care company in each of the markets we serve—not the biggest. Recently, we greatly expanded the use of Registered Nurses to enhance the initial and follow up assessments of clients. In addition, our Registered Nurses conduct safety reviews and offer recommendations in the home environment. The company has been and continues to be a leader in developing a credentialing process for home care companies through its active participation and support of the California Association of Health Care Services at Home (CAHSAH) and the National Private Duty Association (NPDA).
Geriatric Home Care Specialists conducts extensive background checks on all individuals employed and being considered for employment through arrangements with a third party vendor. In addition, we perform a comprehensive interview and selection process to help ensure we hire only the most compatible individuals to work at our client locations.
In 2007, the company intensified its existing employee background check policy. Today a typical background check on a potential new employee may include some or all of the following:
